Varistors

Varistors are voltage-dependent resistors used to protect electronic circuits from voltage spikes or surges. They have a high resistance under normal operating conditions but rapidly become low-resistance when voltage exceeds a certain threshold, diverting excessive voltage away from sensitive components, thus safeguarding them from damage. Varistors are commonly employed as surge protectors in various electronic and electrical systems to prevent overvoltage-induced harm.
