Polymer Solid Electrolytic Capacitors

AVX offers a broad range of conductive polymer solid electrolytic capacitors, targeting general and specific market requirements. Typical features like high capacitance in small and low profile, low ESR, stability of performance in time, benign failure mode under recommended use conditions, make them a good choice in applications like smartphones, tablets, PCs, telecommunication, SSD and also industrial, automotive, defense and aerospace.

9155-800 Series Connector

AVX’s traditional battery connectors have been used for years in a number of applications’ battery packs, removable or pluggable modules, and conventional board-to-board to connect both signal level and power circuits. These ultra-reliable and robust gold-plated beryllium copper (BeCu) contacts provide high integrity connections in hash environments. The unique contact design of the vertical mate 9155-800 series eliminates end user damage by deflecting cleanly and easily when pluggable modules or packs are pressed down vertically into a base unit. Traditional right angle connectors have contact geometries that rely on the pack being inserted at an angle and then rotated down into position.

MM Series MLCC for Medical Applications

The AVX MM series is a multi-layer ceramic capacitor designed for use in medical applications other than implantable/life support. These components have the design and change control expected for medical devices and also offers enhanced lot acceptance testing (LAT) including reliability testing and 100% inspection.

The MM series is designed for non-critical medical applications:

  • Non-implantable non-life support medical devices; for example, patient monitoring, diagnostic equipment
  • Non-implantable life support medical devices with no defined usage limit; for example, heart pumps
  • Implantable non-life support medical devices intended to be operable for less than one year; for example, cardiac monitors

STRIPT™ Single IDC Contact 12-18 AWG

AVX’s STRIPT insulation displacement naked contact technology provides cost-effective, insulator-less, wire-to-board connection for discrete wire applications. Designed from the ground up to function just like a traditional insulated connector, these UL certified contacts have been industry proven for many years. This 9177-500 series has been designed to support the larger wire gauges from a robustness and current rating perspective.

AP Series Antenna PowerGuard Multilayer Varistors

AVX Antenna PowerGuard AP series of advanced varistor products are the ultra-low capacitance extension of the very popular AG series AntennaGuard. The AP series offers tighter capacitance tolerance and improved ESD energy ratings. Designed for use in RF circuits, sensors, high-speed lines, optic circuits, and capacitance sensitive applications. The AP series is available in 1.5 pF, 2.0 pF, and 3.3 pF with cap tolerances as tight as +0.5 pF. These tight tolerances give the designers confidence that their circuits will always perform the same from batch to batch while fully maintaining signal integrity.

The AP series is fully certified to the AEC-Q200 automotive standard and offers the same excellent reliability of the AVX AntennaGuard series which has been in automotive use for more than a decade. With the added performance bonus of bi-directional protection and zero temp derating, the AP series is the superior choice for both automotive and industrial applications where tight tolerance, low cap, and high levels of ESD protection are mandated.

GiGuard ESD Protection Diodes

AVX’s GiGuard GG series components provide superior ESD protection for 5 V, high-speed circuits where low clamping voltages (less than 12 V at 1 A) and low capacitance (0.3 pf to 17 pf) are circuit requirements. The GiGuard series is an advanced, patented, bi-directional TVS diode with unique, leadless terminations that withstand a minimum of 15 kV and up to 30 kV of direct-contact ESD. The leadless design means the entire solder joint is visible to automated PCB camera systems, with nothing hidden underneath, and uses standard EIA pad layouts for EIA 0201/0402 cases. Additionally, the leadless design reduces the inductance of the GG part to that of a standard ceramic component, such as MLCC.
